After the training, hereâ€™s where I stand:
1. I grew up in a family pinching pennies every step of the way. My mom still saves everything even though she doesnâ€™t have to just in case it might be useful someday. So, for me, money is a big worry – thereâ€™s never enough of it. For some time now Iâ€™ve been looking at my view of money, so I will continue that process.
2. Well, I have to admit that I had a lot of hits this week, even more than Rick. I had nearly 4,000, well above Rickâ€™s own 2,200. However, with about 25 new members, my conversion rate was only .6%, whereas his was 3%. So, my hits are no where near as effective as Rickâ€™s. Looking back at what I did this week, I think that most of the hits were from the autosurf traffic exchanges. I use a number of them – when I leave the computer, I leave a bunch of the autosurfâ€™s running. Iâ€™m sure most people who use them do something similarâ€¦ so, lotâ€™s of hits, but no one actually looking at the page. So, I think I will drop the autosurf usage and focus more on other, more effective strategies. I use a number of manual traffic exchanges and spend about 1-3 hours per day surfing them, so I will continue that (itâ€™s a great time to listen to training calls and personal development tapes). I have another ezine ad scheduled to go out this week, so hopefully that will bring me some good hits.
3. But, my primary focus will be on the last set. Trying to get ready to create more visibility. Iâ€™ll look at creating my own version of the lead capture pages and setting up my domain better. I own RosinaBignall.com, but I donâ€™t think it should go there, so I will look at some other domains, though I may just start with some subdomains of RosinaBignall.com for now.

1. We all have ingrained things that we learned about money, so this is an absolute stretch for us. Some grew up with pinching every penny. There was never enough. â€œMoney doesnâ€™t grow on trees.â€ Etc. Others grew up without really knowing where the money came from, but it was there. Either way, the lessons we leaned in childhood do not serve us well as adults.
No one teaches the real game of money as we are growing up. You wonâ€™t learn it in school; thereâ€™s no class in college.
We all have a blue print: What you heard and (more importantly) what you saw became what you think and especially how you feel about money.

Have to get past the psychological block to get to wealth. Itâ€™s a process and wonâ€™t happen overnight.
If you come into it with a sense of desperation, you wonâ€™t succeed. You need persistence, focus, and most of all certainty – knowing you can do it.
He again mentioned Simpleology.
2. Traffic snapshot – Important to track your traffic. How many hits did you get this week? How many conversions? Whatâ€™s the percentage.
Someone asked what he was doing to get traffic. His answer: Check out his team training blog. It contains a blue print for what he is doing. And you can see how it has changed over time. Also heâ€™ll put out advanced strategies on his blog.
3. Kick it up a notch
- Have to own your own domain name
- Create your own pages (lead capture pages)
- On pages have lots of keyword rich copy
All this creates visibility. Ezines are a great short term strategy, but a terrible long term one. You need to have visibility so that your web page is on the top of the search engine pages.
Step 1: Build keyword rich lead capture pages on your website. There is a workshop through GDI with Janet that will teach how to create these.
Use subdomain pages. Use blog. Constantly get in front of the search engine spiders so that you are at the top of the rankings and get the top spots on the search pages. People are more likely to click on the free listings than the paid ones. Weâ€™ll be talking more about how to get in front of the search engines in later trainings. Need to gain visibility
When creating the pages, personalize the pages written by Paul and Joel. These pages are great and some of the best copy Rick has ever seen, so use them, just add your personal touch.
- Have the right mindset
You have a blueprint ingrained in us – the key to winning is to understand it
- Look and see where you are at – take a traffic snapshot
- Have your own lead capture page
I found a great article on Rickâ€™s blog about getting the most out of Traffic Swarm. I have been using the techniques discussed, including tracking it in the spreadsheet and have found it to be most helpful. I donâ€™t want to rehash it here, but I highly recommend reading the article.
I would add a couple of things, though. If your browser opens new tabs all the time from the links on Traffic Swarm, hit the back button instead of using the Next button on the Traffic Swarm page. It will be faster since it doesnâ€™t fetch the page from the server again. Even if speed and extra tabs opening are not an issue, you may want to do that anyway to keep the links from being rearranged.

Listening to the call on Monday, I realized that my main focus right now is to do ezine solo ads so that I can drive more people to my site more effectively. Up until now, Iâ€™ve been trying to mostly do free stuff: traffic exchanges, link exchange, forum posting, etc. And, Iâ€™ve been having success, but slowly. I had set up a few low cost ezine solo ads, but was trying not to do too much there so that I could reduce my expenses. Well, today was the first day one of my ads went out. Can you say â€œdrive the point homeâ€!?! Well, the ad went out and the number of members that have joined me skyrocketed! I went from 12 yesterday to 20 this morning, to 30 this afternoon and still climbing! So, Iâ€™ve learned my lessonâ€¦ I need to do them and put out the money for them because they are effective.
So, I spent my day first fixing up my Blog including completing the move to WordPress.com. I started my blog on Blogger (blogspot.com), but found the interface to be very limiting and I couldnâ€™t change the sidebar without digging into the HTML. I then set up a Typo blog on my own domain, but decided that I didnâ€™t want to spend the time to maintain it. So, I moved to WordPress (wordpress.com). Of the three, Typo is the best – nice interface, AJAX to make things go more smoothly and nice sidebar features. WordPress is a close second and since it has a free server to host the blogs on that I donâ€™t have to maintain, Iâ€™ll use it and recommend it. When someone creates a free Typo server, though, Iâ€™ll probably move to it.
Then, I began checking out all the ezines listed in the start up guide. I want to see what is there and how they are formatted, so the first thing I did was subscribe to a large majority of them. I didnâ€™t want them cluttering up my inbox though, so I created a new address specifically for this (really easy when you have your own domain – someday Iâ€™ll have to write up a little article on some email tricks you can do to make this easy). This way I can see both the newsletters themselves and the solo ads that others have done. I didnâ€™t set up any new solo ads today. Tomorrow, I will take a closer look at all those ezines and start figuring out where best to put my ads. I also need to learn about link branding and tracking so that I can track these and determine which ads and which ezines do the best.
In the process of checking out these ezines, I found what appears to be a terrific 58 Part Internet Marketing eCourse. Iâ€™m sure that weâ€™ll be covering much of the material in the Tycoon training, but extra resources canâ€™t hurt, so I requested it for free and will be reviewing it as it arrives.
Of course, I also spent some time doing traffic exchanges, both autosurf ones and manual surf. Iâ€™ll try to list a few that I use each time I blog:

Posts with titles like this will be my notes from different trainings that I go to. So, this post is about the Wealth Building Tycoon Training on 14 August 2006.
At this session we started by talking about the numbers – the exact ones that I used a my goals in my previous post about this training, so I wonâ€™t include it here. Next we talked about developing a millionaire mindset. This is so incredibly important, because what we think is what will actually happen to us. So, as part of my millionaire mind set, I believe that:
$140,000/month is achievable
And believe me, that is a huge leap for me. Right now, my only income is from SSDI and believe me thatâ€™s not much! However, I do believe that that is achievable. I know others that make a great deal of money each month and I can be one of them.
I will have 833 members/month
Focus on doing business at times that we have – massive commitment. When we might do other things such as watching TV and other activities we can work on this. Itâ€™s important to develop yourself as well, so donâ€™t ignore your personal time.

Leverage yourself and your time
At the end we talked about specific strategies that have shown success:
Rick noted that of the over 400 members heâ€™s gotten in the last month, 296 came from ezine advertisements, 129 came from all other sources (I canâ€™t guarantee I wrote the numbers down right, but you get the idea). This tells me that ezines is where I need to focus primarily. He also commented that ezines are a short term strategy – he would not want to depend on them in the long term.
When asked how heâ€™d rate the success of his different marketing techniques, he said:
- Google Adwords
- Traffic exchanges
He said he did not think that safelists/ffas, guaranteed traffic, or online classifieds produced much results
Our goal is to find like-minded people where PiF4P makes sense to them.
On Monday, Pay It Forward 4 Profits (PiF4P) held their very first Wealth Building Tycoon Training. It was great! Rich Jorgensen started in PiF4P only 2 months ago, but already has enrolled 600 members! This guy knows how to do it and I will be learning from him!
The highest level in PiF4P (at the moment) is Wealth Building Tycoon so thatâ€™s where the name of the training comes from. You become a Wealth Building Tycoon when you have 10,000 members. This training will discuss advanced techniques to get to that goal. It is not for whiners or people who donâ€™t want to work at things. Itâ€™s not a place to ask how to use this tool or that program (there are other training calls for that). It is the place to get concrete marketing strategies to put into place.
So, hereâ€™s my goal:
- 10,000 – The number of members I will have after 1 year.
- 833- The number of new members I will add every month to get to this target over the next 12 months.
- 8,000 – The number of visitors I will get to my PIF4P websites each month to sign up 833 new members.
- $80,000 -$140,000 – My monthly income when I reach the 10,000 member mark.
Yes, Iâ€™m setting the mark high! But, I believe it is achievable and I am going to go for it! Boy do I have a long way to goâ€¦ 30 is nowhere near 833, so I will be working hard. Stay tuned to find out what Iâ€™ll be doing.

Over and over and over again Iâ€™ve started. I get involved in this program or that program. Iâ€™ve tried again and again to make something, anything to work. So many times, in fact, that I had basically given up. All I did was spend money, but rarely, if ever, did I have anyone in my downline and never made anything close to a decent income. Sound familiar?
You see, I am not a sales person. No matter how excited I am about something, I cannot bring myself to encourage someone enough to get them started actually doing something even if I think it will be great for them. Iâ€™m happy to give it to them instead. I want to help them so much, that I just end up giving it away. But, then I donâ€™t have enough money myself to survive because Iâ€™m not bringing anything in – let alone getting other people into the business so that I can get that elusive residual income.

All I have to do, then, is get the information out to people and let them act on it when they are ready. I love to do that, and Iâ€™m pretty good at it.
Like most people, I love to share information about things that Iâ€™m excited about. With this system, all I have to do is get people in the door (share the information) and the system does the rest. It keeps contacting them, it keeps telling them about it until they either join or tell it to stop (and, in that case, I donâ€™t have to feel rejected because they didnâ€™t tell me directly – they told the system and it told me). Wow! All I have to do is the part that I love to do anyway – tell them about it! How great is that!?!
